Personal stories and intriguing facts, family quizzes and tips for tracing people’s wartime history are all available at this new online access area, Ground Level.

New to the Main Exhibition Space

Look out for new exhibits including a First World War flamethrower, made by J Morris and Sons from Manchester and used aboard HMS Vindictive during the raid on Zeebrugge in April 1918, and a fragment from Rudolph Hess’ aeroplane, which crashed in Eaglesham in Renfrewshire, near Glasgow, in May 1941 during his secret attempt to broker peace with the British.
